Welcome to Rikstolvan's large summer exhibition 2021.

Double exhibition by the artist duo Bigert and Bergström:

- TIPPING POINT in Skånefrö's magazine in Hammenhög 19 June - 25 July

- FIXING THE CLIMATE at Rikstolvan I Järrestad 19 June - 5 Sep.

*****************************

TIPPING POINT is a performative sculpture that consists of four rotating rocker arms with platforms. Scenes representing different geographical locations, culture, research and visions of the future take place on these. The sculpture visualizes the complex interactions between, on the one hand, our decisions today and, on the other hand, living conditions and climate change in the future.

FIXING THE CLIMATE consists of several works that the artist duo have shown over the years. The title alludes to their attempt to put everything right.

BIGERT & BERGSTRÖM is an artist duo based in Stockholm whose collaboration started in 1986. They are internationally recognized for their development of conceptual and technically complex projects. Throughout his career, Bigert & Bergström has produced and created art projects ranging from large-scale sculptures and installations to performance and film. With a conceptual edge, the core of their work is placed right at the crossroads between humanity, nature and technology. With curiosity and often humor as a tool, the duo is known for analyzing scientific and social issues discussed in contemporary society, such as climate change or environmental sustainability.

The sculpture Tipping Point is funded by the state research council Formas and has been produced within the framework of the Institute for Future Studies (IFFS) research program "Climate ethics and future generations".

The exhibition in Skånefrö's magazine is made in collaboration between Rikstolvan / Skånefrö / IFFS and has been financed with support from: The Swedish Arts Council, Region Skåne, Sparbanken Syd, Simrishamn Municipality
