Mottainai Takao Momiyama österlen.se

The artist Takao Momiyama grew up in a Japanese peasant culture before the consumer society took over. In the culture he grew up in, all textiles were used, everything was patched and repaired over and over again. Nowadays he has lived in Österlen for many years and right now he is currently at Österlen's museum with the exhibition Mottainai - An exhibition about recycling. The exhibition shows textile works of boro (meaning rags) and sashiko, a Japanese repair technique. Mottainai is a Japanese term that roughly means "do not waste", something that has become a concept in the environmental movement around the world. Come and meet Takao Momiyama at Österlen's museum; see how he works, sew a few stitches, talk and hear him talk about the exhibited works. Takao Momiyama receives in the middle of the exhibition Mottainai - An exhibition about recycling at. 10-14. Fri entrance.

We follow the Swedish Public Health Agency's recommendations and limit the number of visitors to the museum. Keep your distance, wash your hands and stay home if you feel unwell.
