Torsson - Solhällan

Since the last album, which was released on the band's 40th anniversary in 2016, most things have looked as usual in the hobby band Torsson's world. New songs have been written, rehearsed, tested live and finally recorded.
But behind the scenes, an important change has still been made. For almost 20 years, Torssons released his records on a major record company, but when this was bought in 2019 by an American player, they chose to switch to a smaller indie company, Adore Music in Gothenburg.
"It felt logical to start collaborating with Peter Nordenström at Adore Music," says Dan Persson, bassist and conductor. "A couple of years ago, he released our song 'It was played better ball' as a single for Record Store Day on his company, and we immediately felt that we were on the same wavelength." That Peter was Torssonfan at his fingertips was of course a bonus. "He is one of the few with a complete Torsson collection, including all the cover variants on the 80's album" A smoker in the cross ", and that kind of thing impresses, Dan continues.
The collaboration with Adore Music has become something of a fresh start for Torsson:
“Now we are back in the same spirit as when we once started our career in Klippan at the Swedish Pop Factory. It's a little more down to earth, and a kind of do - it - yourself attitude that we like, and it feels like we've got new energy and creativity, ”says Bo Åkerström, who was involved in starting the band almost 44 years ago.
The new album "Sun and Moon" contains twelve new songs, eleven of them written by Bo Åkerström and one by Dan Persson. The title track is a just over seven minutes long epic that carefully deals with a solar eclipse, "Shoots Up" is as it should be about procrastination and "The Whole World" is a poetic view of life, seen from a breakfast table. These are some examples from the album where some of the songs are in the classic Torson spirit, that is, small stories from everyday life with more or less truthful content, while others are pure hit lyrics. "We leave it to our listeners to analyze what really happened and what is dictated together," says Bo. "By the way, the others in the band also do not know what is true and false. And then the lyrics are subordinate to the music, as always in this band, ”he adds.
