Can a maid sue her noble housewife before the thing for paycheck - and get right? Yes, verily, because so happened in Järrestad parish 1701. Holger Mogensen Ulfstand, the estate owner of Glimmingehus, was then sentenced to have camped his maid Else Berete Nicolaidotter, to obey her ten valleys and to undergo church duties, and obvious writings. The child, the obvious proof that this took place, then long rested in the earth.
This dramatic, true story, from a lesser known part of Glimmingehus history, is recounted in the choral play "Else and Holger". Kören Sångbolaget (http://www.songbolaget.se) in front of the music and the story, together with Pär Moberg (scissors), Sven Midgren (violin) and Martin Eriksson (double bass). The music in the performance is largely authentic recordings of music from Sweden and Denmark from the shift 1600 / 1700 speech, arranged for choir and trio by Pär Moberg. Annika Hansson Moberg, former guide at Glimmingehus, stands for the historical research for the performance.
