I have to when no one else wants - About women's rights activist Sophie Sager.

Lecture by Karin Milles

Sophie Sager became nationally known through the sensational Sagerska case, one of the classic Swedish court cases of the 1800th century and one of the first in which a woman was prosecuted for rape. As if that were not enough, she also chose to defend herself in court, with her typical bushy and fearless manner. She was the assault victim who became a women's rights activist, the seamstress who became a writer, the woman on the barricade who became a housewife in Brooklyn.

Karin Milles is an author, linguist and teacher at Södertörn University. The previously published books include historical works, mothers' diaries and language manuals. She also writes regular articles in Språktidningen. In 2021, she is up to date with the book I must, when no one else wants. Women's rights activist Sophie Sager.
