Events at Österlen
13 Nov at 11:00 - PM15:00
This year's theme for Archives Day is Voices in the Archives. It can be about the stories, those who were there when something happened, those who participated or stood next to them, those who lived a long life or those who disappeared too quickly. Their voices are in the archives and would like to be heard. The stories are there if we just listen. Österlen's genealogy and folklore researchers' association is on site during the day and helps with genealogy research and searching in various archives. Bring your questions and they will help you. Staff from Österlen's museum answer questions about what is in the museum's archive. The day also offers lectures by two of the authors of the book Simrishamn 900 år part 1.
Points of reference
Kl. 12: New voices and findings about the history of the fortifications - lecture by Magnus Lindskog, chairman of Österlen's genealogy and folklore researchers' association. Magnus Lindskog has extensive experience of searching in archives and has for the book Simrishamn 900 years found new archive material about the history of the fortifications in Simrishamn.
Kl. 13: Simrishamn voices - lecture by museum director Lena Alebo, who in connection with the work on the book Simrishamn 900 år received diaries and letters with eyewitness accounts from a lost Simrishamn. Lena has also benefited greatly from both the municipality's and Österlen's archives in her local history research.
We have room for four research groups in the Tanner's study room at 11-15 and additional space in the Tanner's entrance, with a break for the lectures. Fri entrance. Coffee service. For the lectures, pre-registration is required for: email@example.com
