Apolonia @ Strandkompaniet
1 Aug at 20:00 - PM22:30
With four records in the luggage and hundreds of gigs played from north to south, Apolonia knows how to take on an audience, to both offer joy dancing and highlight heavy topics makes the evening both memorable and energizing. That the audience leaves with a wonderful and positive feeling at the same time as they are inspired to change the world for the better is just one of the great benefits of an Apolonia concert.
Apolonia has solid experience of the live stages around the country and has had hundreds of appearances since the start in autumn 2009 on SVT, TV4, SR, folk parks, festivals, city parties, concert halls and private parties in both Sweden and Denmark. In addition to the albums "Curls and Beards" (2011) and "Free Feet" (2012), they have created a variety of performing arts productions aimed at children with whom they toured around Sweden. Everything is based on a commitment to society's vulnerable and based on an anti-racist and feminist analysis, Apolonia tries to get its audience to open their eyes and see the injustices in our world. To then call for action and change. "After largely focusing on children and young people for five years, we are now back where we started and aimed at the adult ears." Says Ida. "It is high time to act and then we must reach out to everyone, both children and adults. If with music we can sow a seed of understanding that can grow into a commitment to change, we have really succeeded. ” (Text by Hugo Gerdmar)
