It bubbles by spring sign.
Written by Annika Olsson / 10, 2019
The week has offered rain and debris to us at Österlen. Still, there are small spring signs looking everywhere.
Next to the house ground my purple crocuses are now in full bloom. Just the color that was my mom's favorite color. I love them.
My magnolia trees are full of swelling buds. I keep my thumbs because it will be a wonderful magnolia year. Amazing flowers that just make me happy.
The gate next to our little orangery is newly renovated and newly painted. A beautiful sun gate that Stefan made. It has got its own little strange solution. For our little dogs not to be able to escape through the sun down the corner, we have found their own patent. Of course with small peep holes for small dog nose.
The plants in my orangery also invite them to small spring signs. But it still takes time before I dare to move my plants out. The eastern weather can be both moody and unreliable.
From last year's mighty sunflowers I have saved some seeds. Maybe it's time to bring out the paper bag and see if I can scare life in those seeds now.
Quote of the day:
You have two choices. Either try to see life positively as well as it goes. Or you can see everything negatively, and forget about what is good after all.
For me, that choice is easy.
Hug on you from me.
Hi. Welcome to my blog.
My name is Annika Olsson. I love animals and nature. I live with my husband, our dogs and cats in a wonderful place - Gyllebo in Österlen. I try to enjoy life in all places and gather at those little moments. I love to photograph and tell about big and small in my life, my thoughts from day to day. A lot of nature pictures and photos from my everyday life. One and another wise quotation is often included in my posts. Welcome to me!
It was an early morning that I loaded my dog Johnny into the car and gave me off to walk on the farm yard. Stiby church bathed in warm sunlight when I passed. It would probably be a nice morning, I thought to myself.
Once before, I've been around this trail. But then it was a runway so then there was no time to enjoy the surroundings directly.
Just Gårdlösa is a place that I love especially. Here I have lived for almost fifteen years and here my daughters have grown up. Here they have their roots and many childhood memories. And here the girls' dad still lives, so a lot of bands to Gårdlösa I have of course.
Up on the slope that we call "muffs back", you have a lovely view. Moreover, it is the world's best sledding hut… if you have a little check on where the big stones lie. Here I have been with my girls many times when they were little.
Gårdlösaleden is a wonderful nice hiking trail that is both excellent and also has several interesting small information boards placed along the route.
Just after the "muffs back" you can read about the farm that long ago lay on the site and which is supposed to be Frans Linderberg's childhood home. Small signs also show the way to other exciting places to visit.
Johnny and I enjoyed our walk. A sign warned of a crazy cat, but then we couldn't see any of that.
We passed a beautiful quarry, or "chipper hole" as you say in Skåne.
In the past, everyone who was written in Gårdlösa got to break stones in the Gårdlösabrottet. Even today, there is a tradition in the village, that the men gather for Maygille the 1 May.
I remember how I thought it was a very unfair tradition when I moved here. That it was only the men. As a newly-moved Gårdlösabo, I also wanted to be part of the celebrations. But the whole thing, however, solved itself by itself. For just the 1 of May the following year, I gave birth to my first daughter. Since then, it has of course been called in our house every single year. Birthday party for our little Andréa.
Then I pass the little village I know is called Tjärehuset. The people who live here have always talked so lovingly about this wonderful place. I was quite sure that its name was actually spelled with K at the beginning. K as in love.
It was a little bit on a wonderful hiking trail. The rest I take in another post.
Quote of the day:
Every human being is their own nature as well as every tree. Have you ever been angry with an apple tree because it does not carry pears.
Have a nice day.
Today I offer some more pictures from my morning at the lonely tree near Klammersbäck's mouth. Beautiful pictures that are restful for the soul. Pictures that I think and hope you also like.
It was a morning that had that little extra. Even though the wind was biting cold, I enjoyed it. Under my windproof outer garments I was wearing a warm and good woolen garment.
Johnny and I were sitting by the beautiful little pine. I am on one of the fitted chairs and he is usually resting on my feet.
For several hours we sat there and enjoyed, before we slowly walked back towards Vitemölla again.
In the distance I saw a man. At first glance I was a little worried… but then I realized that it was a quick winter bather heading out into the sea for a swim. A real freshman. Despite the icy wind I thought it looked so nice and inviting, and in my mind I thought back on my own Winter Swimming last year.
Johnny and I walked back to the car. Johnny was blessed with all the rabbit dust and I was satisfied with a nice energy that only nature can give me.
When I came back to my old dirty Volvo, the sun had come up properly and spread its warm shine over the world.
Quote of the day:
No matter how long your journey seems, there is never more than this, one step, one breath, one moment - Now.
The old worn expression "catch the day" has no meaning until you really understand what it means! Train it, and you will understand ...
That's what it is. One day is never the same. One morning can offer sunshine and healthy winds, while the next is gray, dark and not a gust of wind. This morning, Gyllebosjön seemed to be lying there and hustling.
Such days you may as well brighten the world yourself. Though I really love any weather. Yes, just all varieties.
Down by the castle and the horse stable it was so illuminated and looked very homely this dark January morning.
At the bathing place I could see that the water next to the beach edge began to freeze. It looked like a very thin glass of glass.
In the forest, the storm Alfrida had left some traces behind, and it still seems to be a while before the water level in the stream came to be normal again.
Quote of the day:
Never go the way you feel bad, there are many other better ways to choose.
The important thing is that you go, because otherwise you will grow.
Hug stuff from me.
Almost like the bull Ferdinand. Yes it will be if I replace the cork play against a wind-pinned pine and the bull Ferdinand against a large, black Johnny dog instead.
An early morning I stopped my old Volvo at Vitemöllas northern parking. The temperature was just zero, but according to the internet it would feel like minus six degrees. And enough it was icy about the ears always.
The waves hit the beach angrily, and in the sky the moon seemed only as a narrow sash. Johnny and I walked purposefully towards Klammersbäck.
My plan was to enjoy the sunrise and the cold morning at the small lonely tree. The tree that stands there so fine, just north of the brook.
Being able to start their morning at one of Österlens most beautiful places gives positive energy for just the whole day. Although I could understand that the dog Johnny had completely different dreams, than to look at a simple sunrise ...
Yes if Johnny had decided to do so, we would have run for rabbits and eaten rabbit loins all morning instead ...
Quote of the day:
Saying no means you can say yes - to things you want to prioritize and that gives you more energy.
Have a really nice Sunday and make sure to prioritize things that do good for YOU. It is not at all certain that these are the same things that I like, because we are all different. Some like rabbit tortoises, for example, and do not ignore the beautiful sunrises. You always hear them, so you might be connected ...
With the train from Gärsnäs you can easily get out into the wide world. Of course, you can "just" choose to go to Malmö. But the door is open to the rest of the world also via Kastrup. And best of all, it is easy to return home to their beloved Österlen again. Smooth and easy.
I choose from time to time to transport myself by train. It is a pretty cozy way to travel, I think. Maybe someone remembers when I am amused my fellow travelers a couple of years ago ... otherwise you can read about the episode last in the post HERE.
This beautiful afternoon was a cozy dinner with a daughter on my agenda, and our meeting place had to become Emporia.
I had some business to do before I settled down to wait for the finest little Emmy.
In order to have time to meet, we have to make some extra effort. And I am happy to spend time with my girls. Everyone needs to have a little 'self-time'… and I do that too….
We shared a pizza and then sat and mated for quite a while. Gold grain in everyday life for a mother.
Then it was just to jump on the train towards Ystad and Österlen again. Smooth and easy.
If you have a busy schedule and need to save time, NEVER save time for love.
And never save time with those who matter most. Loved the kids. I like to stow in my schedule to have the opportunity to meet my girls.
Tip: At Emporia, the rean was still in full swing, but nothing fell into the taste. I had been aiming for a really good jogging stand with good quality for the coming year. The HERE may well serve as a reward because I continue to work hard year after year despite several disc hernias. Quite expensive, but investing in their health is worth every penny. running socks is always nice now in winter. Cheaper running leather is on STADIUM also right now.
Have a good time and hug
An Austrian village that has a very special place in my heart, that is Eljaröd.
Eljaröd it is a small village located 6 Kilometers from Brösarp.
Sometimes I choose the path that goes through the village. The one who leads in to the little cute houses. The small road leading to the church. The old road.
As a child, this was a village that I stayed in very much. When I was a kid, there was a grocery store that we traded a lot of our groceries in. When I was big enough for confirmation, it was often here I went to go on those hateful but obligatory worship services. But best of all - here was the bath !!
To the bath I went every day all summer. From Christinehof, there was a beach bus the days it was a swim school, otherwise I had to ride a bike. The bath became a natural gathering place for all the kids in the neighborhood. Many of us became real enthusiasts of swimming and on my badge there is a "master of gold" ... so I swam enough until my lips were very blue and my fingertips crumpled than small raisins ..
After the bath, all the kids ran across the road to Lindh's shop. In the small extension that made up the kiosk, the candy pieces were carefully selected by blue-purple little fingers.
There is still a small outdoor swimming pool and I think that a new generation of kids will create dear memories of this particular village thanks to the bath. More about the village Eljaröd can be read HERE
In my picture archive there are photos from my teenage years in the small bath. Lovely memories…
Quote of the day:
When you are out in deep water, it is wise to keep your mouth closed.
Yes today there were some old memories and nostalgia here on the blog. So with a photo that has a few years on my neck I wish a nice day and hug from me.

I want to order just the same summer this year as we had last year. A summer with sun and heat, swimming and lukewarm summer winds.
As an extra accessory, I order some heavy rain showers, rain that will come at night. It would be good, I want that.
Yes, what do you say about that order? But it will be as it does with that matter, and it will certainly be good enough.
There is not a single material thing, no matter how beautiful it is, that can make us feel loved.
Tip: When giving away a gift, it is usually not the thing itself that is important, but the thought and gesture. My daughter turns years in the days and I know she is extremely weak for bags ... It HERE The Italian style handbag had fitted her, and a crocodile pattern WALLET. Really good prices up to 6 / 1.
Have a good time and hug on you.
One day in the Christmas holiday when the sunshine turned to "clock and shed", then we decided to dream ourselves off to Thailand for a while.
Nothing fits better than eating the supper at one of Österlen's best Thai restaurants.
When we got there, some refreshed ball had thrown a bottle through the glass window. The police were in place and set up the order again. For a while I got a little flashback to my own teens there in Tomelilla. The high school had a bad reputation and not even a real name at the time. Certainly, there was someone who broke the boxes then, at the end of the 70 century. I was young, in love and curious about life. And I remember that the elderly said it was better before ...
If that gets the learned dispute, I can only say with certainty that life was exciting to live, then as now.
Well, the food this evening was absolutely delicious. So very good. Stefan and I sat for a long time. We ate and we planned for the future. Maybe, maybe a little trip to Thailand can get rid of. Yes, the one who lives gets to see.
Quote of the day:
I forgive people, but that doesn't mean I accept their behavior or trust them. I forgive them for my sake, so that I can move on with my life.
Have a nice day and if you crave something good tonight then I can really recommend eating Thai.
A nice initiative here at Österlen was the sausage grill which was organized with simple means at the sauna at Kivik.
Stefan and I had our roads to Kivik even in another case. Good seafood for the New Year's buffet of course.
At the small sauna cabin, the grill was already lit when we arrived and cheerful "cuttings" joined in a battle stream from all directions.
Stefan put on our sausages and in seven red seconds he shouted that they were ready and ready. Fast food when it's best!
It was talked about, laughed and wanted "happy new year". Everyone was cheerful and seemed to enjoy the day, even though it was such a typical gray Österlen weather.
Even happy "cutlets" came to the village's sausage grill.
New Year greetings to the family were sent and the crumbs in the mungipan included a happy Mats.
-that gets the same price, he proclaimed smiling.
For those who wanted to get some nice exercise there was a prepared little tip round. I would have liked to have strolled around the village and answered questions. But because of Stephen's stiff foot, we had to abstain…. this year.
And if you are at Kivik's sauna and marsh baths a new year's eve, then there is a sauna and a winter bath bathed of course.
Thank you Kivik for a nice afternoon that ended 2018 at Österlen.
Quote of the day:
Start living and counting every day as a life for yourself.
Hug from Annika
Sea and open landscapes in all honor, but if you are born as a forest guard kid then the soul requires a dose of forest at regular intervals.
At the shooting ranges here in Gyllebo there are fantastic exercise trails. You simply choose the route you consider appropriate. I always choose green or blue.
One of the middle days of Christmas I and my dogs enjoyed nature here. It was a cloudy morning, but the sun bravely fought to look between the clouds.
A lone jogger came running on the forest road and looked a little lost.
I always marvel at nature and its power. Large swamps built by tiny ants or the power of a small spruce that succeeds in settling on the trunk of a birch.
There is no doubt that you feel good about staying in the forest there. Somewhere I have heard that it must be a forest that is at least 70 years old to give the best health effects.
When I was almost back at the parking lot, the sun won over the clouds. The sky changed color from gray to blue and I relieved a little of my clothing.
At the car I gave my dogs a large bowl of fresh water and sat down for a while on the bench that was there at the start. My thoughts went to those unknown gentlemen who arranged the beautiful seating. Wondering just what kind of guys it was and what it was for a club….
Quote of the day:
The one who is good at finding excuses is rarely good at anything else.
Unna is a nice forest walk from time to time, you who have healthy legs. The weather is no excuse and there will be a day for all of us, as we no longer have the opportunity how much you would like to.
